Wafer stage, as an important module of ASML’s lithography machine, plays a crucial role in achieving high-acceleration motion and nano-meter performance. To mitigate the stage-induced vibration, an effective balance mass system has been commonly used. For the next generation wafer stage, new motion characteristics will be introduced, meaning the balance mass needs to be redesigned accordingly. In this assignment, we are aiming to design a new balance mass system for the new wafer stage, and to build a (simplified) dynamical model for analyzing system dynamics behavior. The new modular design would enable better system dynamics for improved performance, under a few challenging boundary conditions on volume, cost of goods, and stability

ASML HMI is designing a new generation of e-beam inspection tools. The assembly and qualification line (work center) for novel modules is being designed in Delft and will be operated at our site for New Product Introduction. The work center requires a well-controlled cleanroom environment.

We are looking for motivated MSc students in applied physics, computer engineering, industrial design, or related fields, with an interest in experimental quantum physics, programming, or product design and development.

We are looking for an intern to further develop a Bokeh-based real-time monitoring tool used to visualize live experimental data. While a prototype is already in use, it requires improvements to support additional use cases and address current technical challenges. The ultimate goal is to integrate this tool into the open-source Quantify framework, making it available to a broader community of researchers, collaborators, and customers. This internship provides hands-on experience in scientific software development, real-time data visualization, and contributing to open-source tools in cutting-edge research environments. Duration: 3–6 months

Mechanical engineering internship openings are available throughout the year for EU citizens or applicants who are able to work legally in the Netherlands.
